How the furnace works
The heating furnace uses the high temperature flame and flue gas generated when the fuel burns in the furnace as the heat source to heat the medium flowing in the furnace tube to reach the specified process temperature.
The fuel is ejected and burned from the burner to generate high-temperature flame and high-temperature flue gas. The high-temperature flame transfers heat to the furnace tube in the radiation chamber through radiation, and then to the medium in the furnace tube. The high-temperature flue gas enters the convection chamber of the heating furnace upwards due to the pulling force of the chimney or the action of the induced draft fan, and transfers the heat to the furnace tube in the convection chamber by convection, and then to the medium in the furnace tube.
The furnace used to heat the small cut fabric blank has only the preheating section and the heating section.
It is customary to also divide the furnace section according to the heating zone where the burner is installed in the furnace. According to the number of heating zones, the furnace is called one-stage, two-stage, five-stage, six-stage and so on. In the 1950s and 1960s, due to the increased capacity of the rolling mill, and the length of the pusher furnace was limited by the length of the pusher, the heating belt was added at the feed end, and the non-heating preheating section was canceled to improve the Productivity per unit hearth area. Using this furnace to heat slabs, the output per unit area of the furnace bottom is 900-1000 kg/(m2·hour), and the heat consumption is about (0.5-0.65) × 106 kcal/ton. Continuous heating furnaces usually use gas fuel, heavy oil or pulverized coal, and some burn lump coal. In order to effectively utilize the heat of exhaust gas, a heat exchanger for preheating air and gas, or a waste heat boiler is installed in the flue.
